Wareham Town Hall



The Town Hall is in the very centre of the town. There is a car park to the rear of the building and several more within walking distance around the town. The Town Hall comprises several rooms – the Corn Exchange, the Council Chamber, the Wareham Town Museum, offices and toilets.

 The Corn Exchange (the Town Hall) is a large, ground-floor room which has wheelchair-friendly access directly on to North Street. It can be hired for functions such as coffee mornings, exhibitions, weddings etc. It can seat up to 100 for conferences or presentations and is licensed to hold 160 standing. The whole building has access to Wi-fi and there is a plain wall if a projector is required. There is a servery where hot and cold drinking water can be made available on request and there is staging if required. The cost of hiring the Corn Exchange includes the use of tables, chairs, the servery and the staging.

The Council Chamber is on the first floor and a stair-lift provides access for those with mobility issues. There is a large table which seats 16 for meetings, and additional seating for up to 60. There is a large fireplace and the walls display the names of Mayors from 1336 until the present day and Town Clerks dating back to 1886. This room is very popular for small wedding ceremonies, and we can supply office space for meeting with registrars. There is a large screen for projectors. Hot and cold drinking water can be supplied on request.

The Recreation Ground comprises a football pitch, cricket pitch and croquet lawn. It has a pavilion with toilets, showers and a kitchen area and is included in the cost of pitch hire. The Recreation Ground can also be hired for large events such as country fairs and every year plays host to Wareham Carnival Fair. We have even had a circus on there!
