Ghurka
The Ghurka Oriental Restaurant held its annual celebration of its opening and coupled this with raising of 3 flags after a long bureaucratic struggle. The Mayor raised the Union flag making sure it was on both the senior flag post and the right way up!

Splendid show of dragon dancing followed, and then lunch. The Mayor and Mayoress were given a blessing including a scarf from Nepal.

A cake was cut at the end using the long revered and famous Kukri knife. It had to draw blood as custom dictated. (done accidentally whilst sharpening it that day!).
